What another outstanding start of school it has been it has been.  The 2009/10 school year kicked off with our “Post It Party” and our outstanding PTA and Mako Foundation providing Dip ‘n Dots for all of our Makos.  The new year has seen us grow again with our student population over 1100.  Along with our rise in the number of students we serve came our growth in test scores.  We were recently recognized by our superintendent for our sixth consecutive year of double digit growth in our state mandated assessments.  We now boast an API score of 918!  Kudos and congratulations to all in our Mako family; students, parents, teachers, support staff, our outstanding Mako Foundation and PTA. 

I feel so very fortunate to work alongside such fine professionals and devoted supporters.  The undying commitment I see day in and day out from everyone in the Vista del Mar community, all working together for the betterment of all of our Makos is something to behold.  I have said it before and I will continue to say it; I count myself a very fortunate man to have landed at Vista del Mar ES.
