Welcome to the Library Volunteer Corner!

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our library and we are so thankful to have an amazing group that is so dedicated to making our library the best it can be! I want to offer a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of you for all your time and energy! Our library could not be the great place it is without each of you!

2)    Books with "FIC" (and then the 1st 3 letters of the author's name) on the spine label are fiction books and go in the fiction shelves along the outer walls of the library.

4)    Books with a Dewey Decimal number on the spine are non fiction books and they go in the freestanding shelves.

Classroom Volunteers

Each classroom has it's own library volunteer that comes into the library with the class once a week and helps check books in and out, re-shelves the books and helps the students find the perfect book to check out that week. Your time for volunteering will be based on the time your class comes into the library each week.

Library Volunteers

There are also volunteers that come in and help the library without a class.  These volunteers are so important to keeping the library running smoothly!

A lot of work goes into making our library programs come to life for the over 1,000 students that use our library each WEEK! In the library workroom there is a bin labeled "Prep-Work To Do" which has work we need help with! From cutting out the 1,000 leaves that will make up our Poet Tree, to making copies for kinder library time, these projects can be done on your own time, and you can even take some of them home to complete! Our library programs can't succeed without YOU and we appreciate everything you can do to help!

Our shelves can get a little crazy with close to 1,000 students looking for books each week, so keeping the books organized is a HUGE task for these volunteers.  It is vitally important to keep the shelves well organized so that the students and teachers can find the titles they are looking for. Time commitment and scheduling can vary depending on your availability.

Book Hospital

We have a dedicated team that helps the librarian in repairing well loved books with torn pages, broken spines, etc. so they can continue to be used by students. These volunteers are welcome to come into the library whenever their schedule allows. It's very flexible!

You can be BOTH a classroom AND library volunteer!

If you're interested in volunteering in our amazing library, please contact Jennifer Mundl at! There will be a training class at the beginning of the year, but volunteers are welcome to start throughout the year.
